In front of our beaches, touching the horizon, the Caribbean Sea with its sparkling waves announces the presence of the Great Mayan Reef, part of the 2nd. Largest Barrier Reef in the world.

Those who know, say that marine life begins at the reef, an important ecosystem that surprises with its beautiful colors and coral forests dancing with the waves. But above all, the reef also tells us about the fragility of life, inviting us to conserve and protect it.

On the other side, looking to the west, where the sun offers beautiful sunsets, the Mangrove emerges. This incredible ecosystem connects the land with the water.

Formed by trees called mangroves, they create a forest that protects the coasts from the impact of hurricanes, in addition to benefit the purification of the waters that reach the coral reef.

Due to the vital importance of this ecosystem for the survival of the reef and the conservation of biodiversity, at El Cid Resorts, since its inception in 1998, we have allocated nearly 200 ha to the conservation of mangroves. From sunrise to sunset and with every moon, at El Cid Resorts you will find unforgettable moments, space to awaken your senses and reconnect with the heartbeat of nature.

Discover with us the life and species that inhabit here, at El Cid Resorts!
